Time is Money

When time is gone. It's gone!. whatever you do you will never can get it back. It's really important to manage time especially in this century of "technology era". everything requires to be done fast, efficient and in an easy way. So definitely the idea of collaborative virtual teamwork by using the available technology from Internet to satellite radars is fitting the context of the fast growing globalized environment. As the population growth is increasing rapidly, our responsibilities from being an individual or an organization is growing as well to cope with the changes fast and efficient.

Just a simple imagination of how our lives would be without the Internet drives me crazy! I still can't imagine how we used to manage our hectic life responsibilities without using e-mails, for example, to confirm meetings or send documents in just seconds!.

having a collaborative teams by using the Web services from Basecamp to Wiki saves time, money and energy. It can be widely applied to different sectors from public to private.

However, maybe because I'm from an older generation, I still see face to face meetings exist on a wide bases from the political to the business environment . I really think that the technology is Superior but it's weakest point is in delivering emotions compared to face to face meetings.

"I really think that the technology is Superior but it's weakest point is in delivering emotions compared to face to face meetings."

Virtual meetings with a television or projector screen have come about as a means to help capture these emotions, but I don't think that even these can fully gain the feeling and atmosphere as compared to face to face meetings..
So I think I am agreeing with your point that even though there are great benefits from the increasing technology, the old school or face to face meetings allow us to get things we may not from the virtual, high tech meetings.

Even though the internet facilitates our lives and online teams and meetings can have many advantages for companies and their employees, I believe that one can never build a true and strong connection with someone you can only see or listen to through a computer screen. The chemistry and relationships that are built with people you personally meet are somewhat lost with virtual meetings.
